The United States is home to many mental illnesses. Nearly half of all Americans suffer from a mental disorder (52.9 million in 2020). There are many mental illnesses that can be classified as mild, moderate or severe. Vidalista 60 and Cenforce 100mg can be used for men's health. These conditions can be divided into two broad categories: Any Mental Illness or Serious Mental Illness. AMI covers all mental illnesses. SMI is a subset of AMI that is smaller and more severe. These data are taken from the 2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health by the Substance Use and Mental Health Service Administration schizophrenia. The following criteria are required to be included in the NSDUH prevalence estimations: mental illnesses must be diagnosed within the last year and have a sufficient duration to satisfy the diagnostic criteria set forth in the 4th edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV (DSM-IV); and they cannot include developmental and substance abuse disorders.

Any Mental Illness

A mental illness (AMI), can be defined as any mental, behavioral, emotional, or other mental disorder. AMI can have a variety of impacts, from mild to severe impairment, moderate to no impairment, and even severe impairment (e.g. individuals with serious mental illness, as described below).

Serious Mental Illness

Severe mental illness (SMI) is a mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder that results in severe functional impairment. It can significantly interfere with or limit one or more of your major life activities. SMI is a particularly severe form of mental illness.

Prevalence Of Serious Mental Illness (Smi)

shows the prevalence of SMI in U.S. adults over the past year.

An estimated 14.2 Million adults 18 and older with SMI lived in the United States in 2020. This represented 5.6% percent of all U.S. adults.

SMI prevalence was higher in females (7.0%) than it was in males (4.2%). A mental health condition, people with dissociative identify split personality disorder(DID) have two more separate personalities.

The highest SMI prevalence was found in young adults between 18 and 25 years, compared to adults between 26 and 49 years (6.9%), and 50 and older (3.4%).

Adults who reported two or more races had the highest prevalence of SMI (9.9%), followed closely by American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN), adults (6.6%). SMI prevalence was lowest among Native Hawaiian / Other Pacific Islander adults (1.2%).

Mental Health Services -- Smi

Out of the 14.2 millions adults living with SMI, 9.1million (64.5%) will have received mental health treatment within the last year.

Females with SMI (69.9%), received more mental health disorder treatment than those with SMI (54.9%).

The percentage of SMI-infected young adults (18-25 years) who had received mental health treatment was lower than that of adults 26-49 years old (63.0%), and 50 years and older (72.9%).

Adolescents Are More Likely To Have Any Mental Disorder

Figure 5 is based on data from the National Comorbidity Survey Adolescent Supplement, (NCS-A) and shows the lifetime prevalence of any mental disorder among U.S. teenagers aged 13-18. 1

A total of 49.5% of teens had some sort mental disorder.

An estimated 22.2% of adolescents with any mental disorder had severe impairment. To determine the level of impairment, DSM-IV criteria were used.
